Here is my story- I went to the ER for pneumonia on December 29th 2009 and I started with bloodwork and subsequently admitted to the hospital but I thought I was only getting checked up and possibly going home but that was not the case. I was put into a medically induced coma and I was diagnosed of Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, ARDS, MRSA, and I had a stroke in the first week in a coma. I did not wake up until early March 2010. I eventually and shocked that I had cancer and also that I couldn't hear anyone that was due to the stroke that I suffered during the coma but I completely lost my hearing. My doctors had told my family that I probably would not walk again from the stroke and they considered me as a quadriplegic. I could barely move after I woke up but I slowly recovered but I can walk and run again. I had an CNS relapse in January 2011 and I had an ommaya port put in my head and I subsequently had a stem cell transplant in April 2011. I am still fighting back the CNS relapse with chemo because it keeps coming back. Fight Back!
