(Philadelphia, Penn., September 8, 2024) - The HEADstrong Foundation is pleased to announce that the Fall Event Series will return for an 18th year with 10 events this October and November.
“We are so incredibly excited for the Fall Event Series this year, especially in so many new locations,” HEADstrong President, and Nick’s mom, Cheryl Colleluori said. “There is no better way for us to honor Nick’s life and legacy than on the lacrosse field that he loved so much.”
To kick everything off, the Fall Event Series will return to where it all began with two Nick Colleluori Classics at Hofstra University on October 4th and 5th. On Saturday, the Hofstra men’s lacrosse team will host Brown, NJIT, LIU and Iona while on Sunday the Hofstra women’s team will host Iona, Lindenwood, Manhattan and Sacred Heart.
The following weekend the Fall Event Series will head to Ohio for the first time with Walsh University hosting nine schools at the Spire Academy. Those schools are Malone, Heidelberg, Franciscan, Lake Erie, Marietta, Point Park, Tiffin, Muskingham and Davenport. That same weekend the event returns to Amherst, Mass., as the UMass women’s lacrosse team plays host to Vermont, Sacred Heart, Quinnipiac, New Hampshire and Bryant in support of HEADstrong’s Kendra’s Kindness fighter fund.
On October 18th and 19th HEADstrong will host an event at the WSFS Bank Sportplex in Chester, Penn, with men’s Division III teams taking the field on Saturday and women’s Division II and Division III squads facing off on Sunday. Saturday’s teams are Arcadia, DeSales, Franklin & Marshall, Washington College, Widener, Drew, Alvernia, Kean and Oberlin while the women’s programs on Sunday include Millersville, West Chester, Adelphi and York. Also on that Sunday will see four Division I men’s programs squaring off in Michigan, Marist, St. Bonaventure and Virginia.
The following weekend will see three men’s events taking place, all on October 25th. Towson, Hobart, Mount St. Mary’s and Manhattan will travel to the Severn School while Lafayette will host UMBC and St. Joe’s. That same day, Washington & Lee, VMI and Salisbury will all participate in a play day at VMI.
The fall event series will wrap up on November 1st when the Rutgers women’s program will host Stony Brook and USF.
Entry to all events other than at VMI and Rutgers is $15 per person and will go directly to HEADstrong’s mission of assisting families affected by cancer. Tickets can be purchased in advance at bit.ly/FallEventTickets2025. Teams participating at each location will also be fundraising, with their efforts going directly to local families that HEADstrong is assisting. Those funds will be presented to a family at each location at a special presentation in between games by members of the Colleluori family and HEADstrong representatives.
