SLIPPERY ROCK, Pa. - The Slippery Rock University women's lacrosse team finished a 3-0 week with a 13-9 win over Shippensburg University Saturday afternoon in Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference action from Mihalik-Thompson Stadium.Saturday's game was deemed the "Stick it to Cancer" game, with both teams wearing special shirts in pregame warm-ups and with money being raised for the Headstrong Foundation to battle blood cancer. More than $550 was raised through the 50-50 raffle alone and t-shirts and other apparel was also sold throughout the semester that will go to the final total.With Saturday's win, Slippery Rock improves to 5-3 overall and 2-3 in the PSAC.
